Reached UK safe and sound on 6th June 2010.
But I was suffering from jet lag!
... Arrgghh ...
I'm worried that I will suffer from jet lag again when I back to Malaysia.

First week at UK
Try to get use to the culture and weather here. I've figured out something that are quite different from Malaysia. Something that you definitely won't do in Malaysia.
Gardens and parks in UK are CLEAN! You couldn't resist to have a picnic there. You can just lye yourself down on the grass directly. Picture this, lying on the ground, close your eyes, enjoy a little warm from sunlight and enjoy the cool breeze. Greatest enjoyment ever! No worries, no animals feces!
Walking around during late night
It is quite safe to walk around during late night compared to Malaysia. Night life at UK is kinda happening especially on Saturdays and Sundays. You will see a lot of drunkers are peeing everywhere along the road side, gay couples are kissing and cuddling along the street, people are shouting like nobody's business......I was shocked with these scenes!
Checking weather forecast everyday
Weather is inconsistent at UK. It would be sunny today but heavy rain tomorrow. Even it is summer now, but I would describe it as cooling summer as I do not feel hot at all. During the first week at UK, seriously we could not stand the coldness, and shivered all the time. Now, all of us already immunized to the coldness! Sometimes we are able to wear shorts under such cooling weather, 13-15 Celcius.
Get to any places (nearby, within 45mins) by foot
We have no other options but walk. We need to walk to uni (approximately 15-20 minutes) everyday. Not only uni but also other places like Castle Market (pasar pagi), mini market, bus station, railway station and even clubs, we have to WALK, WALK and WALK! Fortunately, the cooling weather makes me feel tireless.
Apply lotion 3 times a day
Seriously, you need to apply lotion as much as you can to keep your skin moistures. The weather is extremely dry! Some of my friends got rashes because of the dry weather. Advice from Doctor : Apply lotion at least 3 times a day. I did not get rashes but dry weather really kills me! For the first 2 weeks, my mucus had a mixture of blood. Damn suffering!New experience at UK :
- Sky starts to turn bright from 4am.
- Sky starts to turn dark only from 9.30pm.
- Most of the grocery shops, shopping malls and office are closed at 5pm.
- Some of the clubs and pubs are closed at 12am.
- The amount that can be withdrawn from ATM machine, from 5 pounds to 200 pounds.
- Pipe water from kitchen and water closet can be consumed directly without having to boil it.
- Eggs are tasteless.
- Hardly can find thick black soy sauce.
- hardly can find condensed milk.
- Less varieties of vegetables are available.
