Whitby, The Beautiful Harbour Town

3rd July 2010, Saturday

Yes, it's yet another weekend trip. We followed trip organised by Sheffield Hallam University this time as it only costs us 10 pounds! Whitby, for me, it is really a wonderful getaway to get rid of your stress. The light cooling breeze would make you feel so refreshing.

After 3 hours of journey, we reached the beautiful harbour town finally. Yeah, it's true! Nice sea port, nice scenery, nice weather!

The harbour.
Lovely windy day.
The townscape of Whitby has changed very little over a decade.

We were told that the fish and chips here are the most delicious and famous in UK and even the world. Without hesitation, we quickly hunt for the best fish and chips once we reached. There are a lot of stalls everywhere. But which stall to choose? Headache. We chose one of the fish and chips stalls which has the longest queue. Brilliant? LOL

Crunchy~

Totally out of expectation, kinda expensive (6 pounds) and tastes normal. Any sauce? Yes, but you need to pay another 60 pence. Only salt and vinegar are free.

We moved to Captain Cook Experience after our meal.
 On the ship.

After the sailing experience, we headed to beach. Due to time constraint, we only managed to dip our smelly and tired feet in the water after whole day walking. LOL

turned sunny.
Our daddy, Thomas.
adorable!

Next station after beach are St. Mary's Church and Whitby Abbey. Both attractions are located on cliff top. We need to climb up the famous 199 steps stair before reaching the top. Exhausted. Time to train my stamina.

Half way to the cliff top.
The view of Whitby West pier from top.
St. Mary's Church
Yeah! We reserved a little energy to jump after 199 steps of stair.

 Whitby Abbey.

There is an entrance fee for it. We did not enter as we were actually running out of time to explore the ruined Whitby Abbey.

Samseng po. Take this pic for fun. LOL.

A fantastic day trip. Everything is nice except the so-called best fish and chips in the world has led to a little imperfection of today's trip.
